We lounged on Huntington Beach, where I learned a few things:
My mom likes to sit up high in camping chairs so she can see.
The Marx family are white people, and my parents insisted on lugging out this large heavy pop-up shade. Now, for a mom of 2 fair skinned red heads, I should have thought of it first. It was perfect shade for Brynlee to play in the sand under!
Lastly, Matt. Whom was the center of all entertainment and mishaps! He hates the beach, even before all this! But, to see him literally loose his drawers and get caught in a wave tumbling naked while Ashley stood by and laughed rather than help was pure priceless. Or the time he let go of the kite and start running full speed across the sand only to do a full blown superman spread and face plant arms hyper extended without catching it had me (and half the beach-goers around us belly laughing). But the story of Grandpa & Matt taking the kids: Drew (8), Charlie (6), Parker (3), Carson (3) and Brynlee (1) to Dairy Cream for ice cream only for them to come back to dramatically tell their version of how a 15 minute trip could go so horribly wrong ending in two tantrums, spilled ice cream and puke on the floor - makes lasting memories! I seriously wish I could have been a fly on the wall to witness how it all went down. The DQ worker even recognized Carson the next night with Jordan and retold the previous nights events only making their story of mass chaos that much more funnier.
Hanging out with my family is always times for good memories (or classic breakdowns). Just glad this trip made for such a good time.
While we were on our trip, my uncle Richard past away. He'd been sick in and out of the hospital, so the next weekend all my siblings were in town for the funeral services.
