Adventure Fail

I had this idea. Let's go to Floyd Lamb Park. I'll take some pictures of the kids, we can have a little picnic, feed the ducks and it will be a fun afternoon. That idea failed miserably. We got there and immediately were greeted in the parking lot by a few geese. As we walked into the park away from the pond we were trailed by some peacock, that pretty much scared Brynlee to death. She bursts into tears. The peacock spreads its' wings and brought a lot more tears. Carson was adamant on feeding the ducks. We wonder over to the pond area. We get out two pieces of bread, pick a place with about 5 ducks to feed, and within seconds 50+ ducks surround us, and they are getting feisty. I had to eventually put Carson on my shoulders and pick up Brynlee, as we tried to get out alive and both of my kids are now in tears. We even had geese follow us all the way to our car. My sister in law said it best, "you only make that mistake once!" Yes, we'll never try that adventure again.

I had to make it up to them, so we ventured over to the park... the dinosaur park (with ducks to feed, at Carson's request). But we didn't last very long there either. Once Carson realized the ducks walk out of the pond there too, he wanted to leave. He's scarred for live. He does not like ducks.

That ended us at the Discovery Museum. A happy place inside without any ducks. It was an eventful afternoon.
