When our presidency was put in a few months ago, the girls had little interest in their personal progress so we thought a little day trip to the beach might motivate them. And boy, did it work. I’ve really enjoyed their new excitement for sharing their experiences on Sunday and they had to do a few value projects in order to go on the summer get-a-way.
It wasn’t much, only a day trip and a lot of driving for the adults but it was such a great experience for the girls – they had so much fun. Out of thirteen, 5 had never been before and when we dropped off one of them at 11:00 pm. Saturday night she said, “it was the funnest day of her life and she would never forget it.” Now that’s what being a leader is all about. Making fun experiences for the girls that will influence them for years to come.
I’ve totally forgotten what it’s like to be 14 again.
- They knew every word to songs when they came on the radio by only hearing the first note.
- They talk, and talk, and talk. And then giggle.
- They ask you a million questions about your husband: How long did you date? How’d he propose? Where did you get married? Who named Carson? Are you having another? It was the biggest crack up.
